The irony is lenders, do not share the CIBIL reports. You need to buy an expensive subscription to check CIBIL score. This cost has been a barrier to access your own credit information.

Not anymore, I am going to tell six methods, so you can check CIBIL score free.

Before we jump on to how to check it, let’s see the basic about CIBIL

Simple Truth About CIBIL?

CIBIL is one of four credit bureaus functioning in India. Over 2600 banks, NBFC and HFC are its members. Financial institutions choose it for credit underwriting because it is the oldest and data-rich.

CIBIL gives a three-digit score with credit reports. The score is between 300 to 900, shows your financial health. Although there is no standardized by banks for loan approval, they consider a score above 750 satisfactory.

If the CIBIL score is low, the financial institution may reject the loan application. Unless you improve CIBIL score, banks can charge you a higher rate of interest because of high default risk.

How to Check CIBIL Score Online

The CIBIL keeps the records for those who have a PAN card and have borrowed from any financial institution. CIBIL updates the score on the 10th day of every month. On its official website, monthly charges for checking CIBIL report are ₹550. It cost, lower per month if you opt for a longer subscription on the CIBIL website.

But I will tell you six ways, so you can check CIBIL score with no charges. Read further to know how.

CIBIL has strategic partnerships with many financial institutions. CIBIL provides integrations to these partners by which they can share your credit information.

These websites and apps trade your contact details for your credit information. With your details, they try to sell loans and insurance products. If you do not want these services through them, you can ignore or unsubscribe to their communication later.

The process of checking credit score online is similar on all websites and apps. For this, enter your name, PAN card, date of birth, email, and mobile number. After submitting these details, authenticate your mobile number with OTP. And you get your CIBIL score or report depending on which website or app you are using.

1. Paisa Bazaar

Paisabazaar offers the finest experience to check your CIBIL score. After signing up, you can check the CIBIL score every month. In this, you get a detailed PDF report that comprises running loans, loan inquires, and things affecting your credit score.

This website gives a perfect experience to keep record of your credit score.

2. Paytm App

The Free Credit Score section exists in the “Featured” and “Loan and Insurance sections” of this app. After signing up, you can check your CIBIL score and credit report every month. The sole issue of checking the CIBIL score with Paytm is, you do not get credit reports in PDF format.

Moreover, this app does not let you take a screenshot or use the screen record/capture feature while visiting your CIBIL report. This makes it not suitable for sharing the report.

3. WishFin

In Wishfin, you can check CBIL score and credit report as Paytm. But the choice of PDF download is missing here too.

But you can use Window’s native screenshot feature.

4. Deal4Loans

Direct page link to generate CIBIL report shows error on Deal4Loans. Go through the home page to reach on check CIBIL page.

After submitting your details, they will show your CIBIL score. To show a full credit report, they ask to verify your mobile number with OTP. After verification, you can open your report.

You can read your CIBIL report on this website, but PDF download feature is missing from here too.

5. Bajaj Finserv

They give only CIBIL score and not a complete credit report. CIBIL score result page shows a banner to buy a full report for ₹199.

But you need not buy this because I have earlier shared four other places where you can see this report for free

6. India Lends

They offer only credit score. However, they are overly aggressive in their selling and will shoot Robocalls and SMSs to market loan services.


Winding-up: Few other websites promote free CIBIL scores on their websites. The websites of big brokers as BankBazaar and Policy Bazaar provided no response on registering.

Portal of SBI home loans generated PDF CIBIL report. But they do not mention the password for opening this file on their portal. I tried various combinations to open PDF report from this website, but I could not open it.
